Heavy River Records is proud to present the first phase of our 2021 Johnny Ray Lerner reissue campaign. John is truly an unsung hero of lo-fi bedroom rock and we are delighted to bring his music to more ears!

The Flying Rats is John teaming up with his pal Ron for six dusty lo-fi gems all recorded during one inspired marathon afternoon recording session.

This 7" also kicks off our new Heavy River On Demand lathe cut series. For this series we leave a pre-order open for two weeks and then the item is effectively sold out. The production run is the size of the number of orders. For a label operating on a shoe string budget this is a way for us to ensure more physical releases while making sure we don't have dead stock. Everybody wins!
